Usain Bolt defends his World 200m title in 19.40
Daegu, 3rd September 2011 – Usain Bolt (JAM) defended his IAAF World T&F Championships 200m title with an excellent 19.40 secs victory in Daegu. Running in lane 3 the tall Jamaican came off the turn with a lead that increased all the way down the home straight. His time of 19.40 secs is the 4th fastest ever with only himself (19:30 in Beijing and 19:19 in Berlin) and Michael Johnson (19.32 in Atlanta) being faster. Rosemarie Whyte (JAM) added another 4x400m silver medal to her collection with a strong first leg performance. Whyte now has three global 4x400m silver medals – World Championships 2009 & 2011 and Olympic Games 2008. Perri Shake-Drayton, Nicola Sanders and Christine Ohuruogu were in the GBR team who finished 4th.
