Galen Rupp breaks American Indoor 3000m Record

Galen Rupp breaks American Indoor 3000m Record Stockholm, 21st February 2013 – Olympic silver medalist Galen Rupp (USA) smashed the American Indoor 3000m Record with a time of 7:30.16 to win the 3000m in the XL Galan in Stockholm. The Oregon Project athlete moved to 7th fastest all time with his performance in the Swedish capital. He ends his indoor season as the world leader in the mile and 3000m. Andrew Osagie (GBR), Michael Rimmer (GBR) and Matthew Centrowitz (USA) placed 3rd, 5th and 6th in a world class 1000m race. Osagie clocked 2:18.78, Rimmer got a personal best of 2:19.20 with Centrowitz close behind in 2:19.56.

Chris Tomlinson (GBR) placed 6th in the men’s long jump with a best third round leap of 7.88m.
